# Fikaride asset and route data sources

The cycling kit, bike, animation, shaders and procedural scenery code are original Fikaride work. The following upstream visual assets are CC0 1.0 Universal. No Zwift, Rouvy or Call of Duty assets are included.

## Cyclist

`rider/cyclist.json` derives from the MakeHuman hm08 base mesh, default skeleton/weights and macrodetails targets. The asset was explicitly released as CC0 in September 2020 by Data Collection AB, Joel Palmius and Jonas Hauquier. This release uses the mesh data, not MakeHuman application code.

- Base mesh: https://github.com/makehumancommunity/makehuman/blob/master/makehuman/data/3dobjs/base.obj
- Rig/weights: https://github.com/makehumancommunity/makehuman/tree/master/makehuman/data/rigs
- Body targets: https://github.com/makehumancommunity/makehuman/tree/master/makehuman/data/targets/macrodetails (race-averaged `*-female-young`/`*-male-young`, and `universal-*-young-{maxmuscle,averagemuscle}-{minweight,averageweight}`)
- Asset licensing: https://static.makehumancommunity.org/about/license.html
- CC0 text is included in `rider/LICENSE.ASSETS.md`.

Changes: body faces extracted; skeleton reduced to cycling limbs, three spine and two neck segments, clavicles and articulated fingers; mesh welded, without UVs, and Loop-subdivided at load; neck and shoulder weights smoothed; two baked body variants (gender .12 and .88 with a lean, muscular build) with refitted joints; metre scale; lower foot replaced with cycling shoes; custom clothing boundaries and kit; original IK cycling pose and accessories. The derived mesh remains available under CC0.

## Coastal scenery

All source assets below come from Poly Haven, whose assets are CC0: https://polyhaven.com/license

| Source | Use |
| --- | --- |
| https://polyhaven.com/a/asphalt_02 | Road color, normal and roughness maps |
| https://polyhaven.com/a/aerial_grass_rock | Ground color, normal and roughness maps |
| https://polyhaven.com/a/rocky_terrain | Cliff/ground color variation |
| https://polyhaven.com/a/brown_mud_leaves_01 | Ground litter detail |
| https://polyhaven.com/a/gravelly_sand | Gravel road shoulders |
| https://polyhaven.com/a/coast_rocks_05 | Coast rock mesh, reduced to 3,993 triangles, and PBR maps |
| https://polyhaven.com/a/pine_sapling_medium | Three full-detail trees baked into eight directional views each |
| https://polyhaven.com/a/island_tree_01 | Broadleaf tree, baked into eight directional views |
| https://polyhaven.com/a/tree_small_02 | Second broadleaf tree, baked into eight directional views |
| https://polyhaven.com/a/shrub_02 | Four scanned shrubs, original mesh with 1K PBR maps |
| https://polyhaven.com/a/kloppenheim_06_puresky | 4K HDR sky and environment lighting |

Downloaded texture URLs are recorded in `coast/sources.json`. Pine and broadleaf atlases are original renders of the CC0 source trees, with exposure adjusted for the environment. Scenery geometry and shader code outside those derived assets are original.

Only distributable graphics are in this directory. Route research and unlicensed provider GPX files must remain outside `public/` and release archives.

## Route data

Route centrelines: © [OpenStreetMap contributors](https://www.openstreetmap.org/copyright), available under the Open Database License (ODbL) 1.0. The centrelines were routed with [BRouter](https://brouter.de/brouter); Mont Ventoux and Schlucht Road follow mapped OpenStreetMap ways. The route files in `/routes/` are a database derived from OpenStreetMap and are available under the ODbL.

## Weather data

Live weather is based on data from MET Norway (the Norwegian Meteorological Institute), Locationforecast 2.0: https://api.met.no/weatherapi/locationforecast/2.0/documentation. The data is licensed under CC BY 4.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) and NLOD 2.0; see https://api.met.no/doc/License.

Changes: Fikaride uses the hourly forecast entry nearest to the current time, converts wind and gust speeds from m/s to km/h, maps MET Norway weather symbols to its own condition names and icons, rounds displayed values and caps simulated wind at 90 km/h. MET Norway does not endorse Fikaride.
